Tote Conveying Once Robotic Dispensing completes the filling of orders, the Tote Conveying operation takes over to transport totes to RDS ROBOTx workstations. Employing RFID technology, the Tote Conveying operation masters the art of conveyer traffic control, prescription identification, and real-time processing of destination information. The quiet conveyor system is two-tiered with a diagonal elevator ramp to allow totes to move to the upper level. The lower level is for totes that are currently "works in process," such as empty unassigned totes, totes filling at the Robot, and totes carrying incomplete orders to Manual Fill workstations (i.e., orders that require manually filled Rxs to complete a patient's full order). The upper level is for totes carrying completed orders to Verification workstations. The tote’s RFID tag plays a critical role in tote transport and prescription tracking. The system updates RFID tags whenever totes need to move to a new destination within the RDS. The tags also link to the system’s PharmASSIST Symphony database to enable comprehensive, real-time prescription tracking, providing you with tote and order status instantaneously. |
