Innovation Associates Teams Up With Pharmacy Services, Inc.
to Offer Cooperative Purchasing Program to Independents

Deal Provides Independents With Greater Buying Power for PharmASSIST Systems

JOHNSON CITY, NY - November 15, 2001 -Innovation Associates and Pharmacy Services, Inc. (PSI) announce the establishment of a Cooperative Purchasing Program that enables PSI members to aggregate their purchases as a group and receive volume discounts on Innovation's PharmASSIST® automated dispensing systems. PSI's cooperative buying group is comprised of 225 independent pharmacies in Michigan and Northern Ohio. The firm markets its products and services to nearly 1000 independents.

"The Michigan Pharmacist Association has charged us with the responsibility to research, develop, and contract with firms like Innovation Associates because they provide advanced technology that helps pharmacists meet increased workloads and deal with pharmacist shortages," says Brian Horton, director, business development and contracting at PSI. "This program enables our members to pool their resources and purchase PharmASSIST systems at discount rates that they would otherwise not be entitled to."

The PharmASSIST product suite is comprised of the SmartCabinet System, Symphony+ System, and Workflow Software, with the Robotic PharmASSIST to be unveiled in Q4 2001. Each of the PharmASSIST products enables pharmacies to enhance the quality of their prescription filling, to improve their workflow, and to implement a customized system that meets their prescription volume and physical space requirements.

"This type of joint marketing effort enables us to extend our reach into the independent pharmacy market and to offer them much needed automated dispensing technology," says Mary Reno, CEO at Innovation Associates. "We look forward to working with PSI to get the word out to independents and to help them achieve greater buying power for our PharmASSIST products.
