Cleveland Clinic Selects PharmASSIST Pharmacy Automation Technology for Five Pharmacies
World Renowned Institution Cites PharmASSIST’s Ability to Fulfill their Strategic Vision

JOHNSON CITY, NY - June 9, 2005 - Innovation Associates announces that The Cleveland Clinic has selected their PharmASSIST® Symphony® automated prescription dispensing and workflow management systems for installation in five of the institution’s pharmacies. The Cleveland Clinic assessed the PharmASSIST technology to ensure it could fulfill their strategic vision of enhancing patient safety, improving resource allocation management, and implementing a scalable platform to address their changing business requirements.

“We thoroughly evaluated the industry’s various systems and concluded that the PharmASSIST technology could assist us in providing high quality care to our patients,” says Mike Wascovich, assistant director, ambulatory pharmacy services at the Cleveland Clinic. “We’ll be able to use these systems to process all of the prescriptions in our workflow, to digitally image all prescriptions, and to retrieve prescription order information in real-time,” adds Wascovich.

The Cleveland Clinic pharmacies will have various PharmASSIST configurations with systems ranging from stand-alone Symphony software applications to systems with 2 PharmASSIST cabinets (counting technology each with 50 dispensers) and multiple workstations for their various workflow tasks. The PharmASSIST system is fully integrated with the clinic’s pharmacy management system, JASCORP®, ensuring real-time prescription order flow for all Rx fulfillment tasks.
