JOHNSON CITY, NY - March 20, 2001 - Innovation Associates announces
that Channahon Ranch Pharmacy has purchased and successfully implemented a PharmASSIST
SmartCabinet System to automate their prescription dispensing. The independent drug
store, located in Channahon, Illinois, cites the PharmASSIST SmartCabinet's
comprehensive quality control and small footprint as determining factors in their buying decision.
"I looked at the various prescription dispensing systems on the market and
Innovation had what I considered the best quality features and the smallest footprint
out of all the systems currently available," says Lou Kaducak, owner of
Channahon Ranch Pharmacy. "In general, we had been stressed out in trying to

Channahon Ranch Pharmacy employs a 2-cabinet, 98 dispenser PharmASSIST SmartCabinet
System to handle its weekly volume of about 1500 prescriptions. The system is also
fully integrated with the store's McKesson Pharmacy System, which it uses as its
pharmacy management system. "Our 2-cabinet system is just the right amount of
automation for our volumes and my staff, which is typically 2 operators even in
peak periods. I like that about Innovation; they look at your workload and provide
you with just the right configuration. They don't try and oversell their
automation," comments Kaducak.
The PharmASSIST SmartCabinet System is Innovation Associates' high quality
counting automation solution. Depending on prescription volume and available
physical space, a pharmacy can configure a SmartCabinet System comprised of
the SmartCabinet (48 dispensers) and from 1-3 additional Standard PharmASSIST
Cabinets (each with 50 dispensers) to offer a system of 48 - 198 dispensers.
The SmartCabinet seamlessly integrates with the pharmacy's pharmacy management
and workflow systems, and can easily be upgraded to the PharmASSIST Symphony+
System with complete pharmacy workflow functionality.
