of PharmASSIST Symphony and Voice-Tech IVR
Industry Leaders Announce End-to-End Workflow and IVR Solution for Pharmacy Refill Management
JOHNSON CITY, NY – March 20, 2007 – Innovation Associates, makers of PharmASSIST® pharmacy automation solutions, and Voice-Tech, a premier provider of pharmacy IVR systems, today announced the integration of PharmASSIST Symphony® and Voice-Tech solutions, two of the industry’s leading software technologies. The integration of PharmASSIST Symphony’s end-to-end workflow management capabilities with Voice-Tech’s IVR system enables pharmacies to maximize the efficiency of their refill management processing and to deliver enhanced customer service.
Tim’s Pharmacy in Yelm, Washington recently went live with the two systems in conjunction with his PharmASSIST ROBOTx™ system. According to Tim Larsen, R.Ph. and owner, “The Symphony workflow integrated with Voice-Tech has been one of the biggest godsends for our pharmacy. We now come in every morning to a populated work queue of off-hours refill requests. The combination of the two systems has taken the chaos out of our pharmacy and streamlined our entire refill process.”
Highlights of the integration of PharmASSIST Symphony and Voice-Tech IVR include:
- Real-time data sharing enables pharmacies to instantly ascertain the exact status and physical location of every prescription, identify the staff member responsible for each task in the fulfillment process, and see the date/time stamp of when each task was performed.
- Automated prescription triage evaluates each refill order as it’s received by Voice-Tech. Symphony sorts the orders as problem-free/fill-able and routes them for automated or manual dispensing; or sorts them as problem orders that require either a doctor’s authorization, a pharmacist’s input, or help with insurance adjudication.
- Communication log provides clear visibility into the interaction between the two systems.
- Fax-to-Doctor automatically faxes an authorization request to a physician’s office when a refill prescription requires a doctor’s authorization for additional refills.
- Real-time prescription status is automatically provided to patients who call a pharmacy’s Voice-Tech system for status update, eliminating previous guesstimates based on an average filling time.
- Call-to-Patient automatically notifies patients via a telephone call when their prescriptions are ready for pickup and, if needed, it initiates a reminder call. Patients must opt into a pharmacy’s Call-to-Patient program to be eligible for this service.
